What’s Happening Carlton Landing the weekend of October 13th-15th, 2017
Well, here are again, folks. Finally feels like fall in Carlton Landing. If even for just a couple of days because it’s supposed to be 90 degrees again on Saturday. And I guess that’s where we should start the post for this weekend: the weather.
In Carlton Landing, Oklahoma, on the weekend of Friday, October 13th through Sunday, October 15th, the weather is supposed to heat back up. Beautiful, but Summer like weather on Friday with a high of 88, and that I’ll be pulling the shorts back out. Saturday there’s a 90% chance of rain in the evening hours which could mess with our event plans. (which, Whitney would remind you that it WILL rain, in 90% of the area, so be prepared) Then, just as if Summer ended again, Sunday will be a bit cool with a high of 66. Just pack your closet, that should cover it.
Friday night there are no planned community events. For most us, this means that we will be looking forward to Catan , wine, and conversation. In other words, one of our FAVORITE Carlton Landing nights.
Saturday morning is men’s Bible Study at 7:30 in the main Carlton Landing office (the white brick building). For more info on this, or if you have questions, send us a message.
Saturday night the community is continuing the Hitchcocktober fest with a showing of Rear Window. Whitney will be there because she loves Cary Grant. The movie night will begin with You’re a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Rear Window will follow. The shows start at 7, and it’s down by the dock. The formal designation for this space is the Park Street Lake Approach, if you want to get technical.
Sunday morning we’ve got women’s Bible study at 8, in the main Carlton Landing office. And then we’ve got church, with guest pastor Brandon Scott and guest worship Jami Smith. As always, if you’d like to join us, church starts at 10, in the big tent down on Water Street. Click here for a map of Carlton Landing, in case you’re unsure of what’s where.
The General Store will be open from 7:30 to 5:30 on Saturday, and will serve breakfast and lunch. On Sunday they’re open 9:30 to 2:30. For more information on breakfast and lunch options from the General Store, click here.
The grills around town were all recently repaired, thanks to our wonderful HOA, and can be found at the Community Garden and at the Boulevard Pool.
Boat club is still open, for those that are members or are renting a house that has a Boat Club membership. For more about rentals, click here. Kayaks and paddle boards at the dock are always available for home owners and renters. The pool is open. The hot tub works. There’s a new sidewalk to check out in what we affectionately call “The Suburbs”—it’s actually Lower Greenway, and it’s a big square, fun to explore.
Enjoy your stay!
Make sure you swing by our little corner and count how many bikes have miraculously landed there. It’s a sight to see.
