It’s Time to Love Your Neighbor!
Easter in Carlton Landing signals the time for the 3rd Annual Love Your Neighbor Parade! For those of you that have not had the opportunity to join us, here is how it goes. This is a PARTICIPATION parade, not a watching parade. Wear your funny costumes, decorate your wheels (anything with wheels), or bring your loud obnoxious instruments. Anything to make it fun and enjoyable for everyone. As you walk or ride the parade route, take the opportunity to meet the new neighbors or catch up with old friends you haven’t seen since last year! This idea was inspired by our friend, Bob Goff, who took the opportunity to have a parade in his neighborhood in order to get to know his neighbors and to keep his kids from being bored. Bob’s parade still happens every New Years Day to this day!
Get your garb together and meet us in Red Bud Park at 9:45 to line up and receive instructions. Once we reach the end of the route, hang out and enjoy some donuts, coffee, and fellowship in the CLCC tent!
A nationwide helium shortage will prevent us from having an insane amount of balloons along the parade route. So, instead, we will have a few balloons to hand out to kiddos along with a kazoo to make that joyful noise!
Pop-ups Round 2
After the parade, donuts, and coffee, hang around and see what the local retailers are selling at the pop up shops! Last week was quite lively and I hear this week should be even better. T-shirts from Gingham Home, Essential Oils Q & A from Nicole Schumacher, leather goods, solid wood home furnishings, and much more.
The pop-ups are delaying opening until 10:30am to make sure you can participate in the parade.
Bob and Jeanette have been working tirelessly to get the immobile version of Mama Tig’s Wood Fired Pizza open. Well, it is happening!!! We have word that Mama Tig’s will open Friday, March 30th at 11am and will serve until 9pm at their new location across from the Residence Club(the old Off the Hook Fishhouse). We are so happy they are here and investing in our little town. Join us in giving them a fantastic opening day on Friday!
Sunday Easter Service
Celebrate our Risen Savior by joining us for a very special Easter service at 10am. The Fishers of Men will lead us in worship music, followed by an Easter message from Mr. David Lake. We look forward to seeing you there!
While we wrap up church, a group of “fleet footed” locals will saunter up to Red Bud Park and distribute the eggs for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt that will begin around 11:45. Kiddos bring your baskets and wear your battle gear because I think the competition will be fierce.
Following the egg hunt, spread out your blanket and break out the picnic goodies for a community Picnic in the Park. Then, go take a nap, you deserve it.
Due to cold weather approaching Sunday, the Easter egg hunt will be Saturday March, 31st at 3pm in Redbud Park.
