Normally, we do this weekend in Carlton Landing, but since the holiday season is upon us, the “normal” must change a bit and because it’s Thanksgiving in Carlton Landing! Per the normal norm, we start with the weather. Thanksgiving looks like a wonderful windows open kind of day, look for a high of 65 degrees and a low of 44 degrees. Friday is back up to a high of 74 degrees and lows in the high 40’s. Saturday and Sunday look like highs in the mid 60’s and mid 40’s for lows at night.
Break out the good china, dear, it’s Thanksgiving in Carlton Landing!! Ours is out for its annual dusting off and will stay in use through Christmas. I’m sure the same is happening in houses all over this great country of ours. As families come together to give thanks for the many blessings in their lives, we want to give you a heads up on what is happening in our fair burg this week.
Our dear friends and neighbors, The Carrick’s, have taken it upon themselves to begin another great tradition by hosting the 1st Annual Thanksgiving Community Potluck on Thursday evening! After you have slept off your initial food coma, bring whatever you have left over to the Carlton Landing Community Church tent. The population of our town will spike this week, so we are expecting quite a crowd for the first ever potluck. The festivities will begin at 6pm and all are welcome. Here is a link to the map to help you find the location.
On Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 3pm, there is an open house at 27 Firefly Lane. Come have a tour of this beautiful home that is listed for sale by yours truly. You will love the bright spacious interior and the extras the family added to the floor plan upstairs. To see more on this home prior to the event, the MLS listing can be found here.

If you are in to potlucks, you are in luck this week. Whitney and I started a little tradition of our own three years ago and look forward to carrying it on. Please join us at our home Saturday evening at 6:00 pm for Friendsgiving 2017! Bring what’s left of your leftovers (or make something else, sorry) on over, along with your favorite beverage, and hang out with some cool neighbors. There is no formal schedule, just come and go as you please. Weather permitting the kids will play outside or upstairs or we will turn on a movie and shell out popcorn. Drop us a line through our contact page and we will gladly send you directions.
Worship and Baby Dedication Sunday
Every Sunday at 10am, the Carlton Landing Community Church meets to worship together at the tents on lower boardwalk, click here for the map. This Sunday is EXTRA special because we will be holding a baby dedication AND we also have a guest worship music leader, Charlie Hall AND a guest pastor Justin Coffee.
Justin started 405 Center which “has a vision for cities being transformed, and created the 405 center out of a heart to see redemption, renewal and restoration in Oklahoma City in particular.” He is also the pastor and Elder at Frontline Church in OKC.
