The Spring Break in Carlton Landing kicks off this week and the weekday activity is ramping up a bit. Through the winter, the locals have this place to themselves and I, for one, am happy to see the “season” start. This post will be the first of many, this year, keeping you up to date on what is happening around town. This week is a light week for events, but you there are some important things to share. Most notably, the food situation around town. If you haven’t read last weeks post, take a few minutes to catch up on the changes to restaurants and the General Store here.
We usually start with weather for your packing purposes, so here you go! As of this posting, the temps will increase steadily through the week and top out in the mid 70’s at the end of the week! Finally! Precipitation chances are small, this week, so enjoy the porch time. Overnight lows will get down into the high 40’s and low 50’s.
She’s a Kefir
Sarah Tunnell will be hosting her first ever Kefir making class at our house on Saturday morning at 11 am. Kefir is a fermented milk that you blend with fruit and it packs a probiotic punch. Check out this wiki for more about what Kefir is and what it’s good for. All I know is that our youngest loves it and we have to drive an hour and half to get it. Join Sarah and Whitney to learn more about making this healthy treat in your own kitchen!
Our home is located on the corner of Boardwalk and Boulevard, across from the pool. As we alway say, look for all the bikes in the front yard and you are at the right place.
Carlton Landing Community Church meets every Sunday morning at 10 am to worship together. Join us at the church tents located at the end of Lower Boardwalk, across from the Town Green. This week, we will listen to Ronnie Johnson, of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, TX, speak on Less is More and The Fishers of Men will lead us in music. Come have a donut and hot cup of coffee, meet your neighbors, and start your week or end your stay with some good fellowship.
Editor’s note: blog update as of 3/16/18 at 12:00pm
