Let’s celebrate Mexico’s unlikely victory over Napolean III’s French forces in true American fashion this weekend in Carlton Landing! And why not? American’s are always looking for a reason to make good drinks, food, and conversation and Cinco de Mayo fits the bill. There are a ton of things to do this weekend to support local schools and businesses. Read on and plan your weekend accordingly. It may be the first weekend the boats are headed out in full force and the sidewalks and streets are packed with friends old and new!

Update!! Mama Tigs Ribbon Cutting on Quatro de Mayo
Well, when you have a packed weekend, you are bound to miss something. Mama Tigs Wood Fired Pizza is having their GRAND OPENING ribbon cutting on Cuatro de Mayo (May 4th) at 10:30 am. I can’t swear to it, but Janette has been known to throw some food out to people for celebration purposes and this is most definitely one of those. If you are around, walk on down to Mama Tigs and congratulate Bob and Janette on their new venture. Then, stay and enjoy a great lunch and play hookie with your neighbors
Election Time! UPDATED!!!!!!!
The Carlton Landing HOA is holding its first meeting of 2018 this Friday night Cuatro de Mayo from 7pm to 9pm. They will meet in the Pavilion since the weather is so nice. This will be the meeting, in which, the homeowners will be electing two representatives to represent their interests on the board. Also, there will be updates from the developer on pools, parks, and other projects in the works.
Pop ups are Poppin’ Again
The Pop up shops will be back in full force this weekend after our unseasonably cold Spring. Shop the farmers market for some fresh veggies, support local retailers, and artisans from 10am – 1pm on Cinco de Mayo at the Pop Up Sheds located on Lower Boardwalk. Just look for the crowd down by the lake!
Secret Park Has a Real Name
Scissortail Homes has turned what our kids affectionately call “secret park” into the newest play park in Carlton Landing! The grand unveiling of Pistache Park will happen on Cinco de Mayo from 11am to 12pm. A Cinco de Mayo themed lunch will be served, so bring your appetite! Pistache Park is located off Lower Greenway between Redbud Street and the construction road. Look for the HUGE white posts lining the walk up to the park.

The long awaited opening of the Airstream Food Court for 2018 is happening this weekend! In conjunction with a fundraiser for Carlton Landing Academy, the food court will start slinging out some new offerings Cinco de Mayo at 5pm and continue on through lunch on Siete de Mayo. Come grab some good food and check out the shade providing renovations to the park.
- Mama Tigs Wood Fired Pizza will be serving up some of their fantastic pizza and salads.
- Highway 9 Cafe will fire up the shish-kabobs and other comfort options.
- Straw and Spoon will keep on cooling you down with homemade ice cream and snow cones.

Fundraising Art Walk
Walk off your dinner and support our very own Carlton Landing Academy by perusing the custom creations the students have been working so hard on. The Pop Up Shops will transform into an art gallery from 6pm to 8pm on Cinco de Mayo for you to see the work of these artisans and bid on them to help our school. The kids are so excited for you to see what they have created, so make sure you have this one on your to-do list for this weekend.
Carlton Landing Community Church meets every Sunday at 10am in the white tents located at the end of Lower Boardwalk. Join us this weekend as Brandon Scott be looking at the reality that we have been washed clean in 1 Corinthians 6:11. JD Fuller with most of the Fishers of Men will lead us in amazing worship music.
